There is a lot of fuss to be heard about the few videos on YouTube that appear to contain footage of people taking Salvia. Is this a lot of fuss over nothing?

Well, yes. When you consider that it is absolutely legal to use, sell and buy Salvia in the US then it really is fuss over nothing.

What those doing the fussing are doing is simply perpetuating the cycle where Salvia is gaining in popularity simply because of the massive press and political coverage it is getting. If everyone just kept quiet about it then people who had never heard of the drug would not be so eager to go out and buy Salvia for the first time. It always was quite a niche drug that fulfilled the needs of just a few groups of people. Now it has become the subject of mass attention and mass hysteria. More people have now decided to buy Salvia and more are enjoying it.

In any case those complaining about these YouTube posts really seem to be missing the point, as the subject of those clips are certainly not 100% for the drug. Many don’t like it. Just because I see a video of someone trying Salvia on YouTube it doesn’t mean I want to go out and buy Salvia!
