Anyone who has been following the music industry recently will no doubt have noticed Sony BMG’s approach to ‘moving its business forward’. Belligerent isn’t the word… Could Sony be a little more understanding when it came to its customers? Does this attitude of ’screw the small person’ always have to prevail? Even Sony can crumble, and it is with pride I announce Sony’s commitment to music downloads. “Free music downloads from Sony?” I hear you cry?

Good things come in twos as this announcement – Sony’s partnership with telephony giant Nokia – comes almost at the same time as the partnership with Peter Gabriel’s We7 – again to offer unlimited music downloads – gets underway. Has the world gone mad?

I will go on. Just a few weeks ago 24-7 Entertainment’s commitment to unlimited music downloads was affirmed when it joined forces with a Nordic provider; it is rumored to be in further talks with UK-based companies to offer a similar deal.
